Top 6 easiest dogs to train
Easiest dogs to train
1.German Shepherd
The German Shepherd is a breed of large-sized dog that originated in Germany. German Shepherds are a relatively new breed of dog, with their origin dating to 1899. As part of the Herding Group, German Shepherds are working dogs developed originally for herding sheep. Since that time, however, because of their strength, intelligence, trainability and obedience, German Shepherds around the world are often the preferred breed for many types of work, including search-and-rescue, police and military roles and even acting , that is why they are at the top of our list of easiest dogs to train.
The Australian Cattle Dog is intelligent and responsive; both of these traits can be an advantage in training where a structured, varied program is used, but can lead to unwanted outcomes if training is not consistent, or is repetitive and boring for the dog. Dog trainers recommends making training a game so the Cattle Dog learns that obedience leads to enjoyment. Many of a Cattle Dog's natural behaviours are undesirable in a pet: barking, chewing, chasing, digging, defending territory, and nipping heels. Training, therefore, involves helping the dog adopt a lifestyle that is probably very different from that of its droving ancestors. The Australian Cattle Dog is biddable, and responds well very to training.
The Labrador Retriever (simply Labrador, or Lab for short) is one of several kinds of retrievers, a type of gun dog. Even-tempered and well-behaved around young children and the elderly, Labradors are also athletic, playful and very smart and intelligent dogs.
The Golden Retriever is a large, strongly-built breed with a dense water-repellant wavy coat. They are particularly valued for their high level of sociability towards people, calmness, and willingness to learn. Because of this, they are commonly used as guide dogs, mobility assistance dogs, and search and rescue dogs.. Golden Retrievers also are very smart dogs who are loyal and friendly to their caregivers.
The Yorkshire Terriers are an easy dog breed to train. This results from their own nature to work without human assistance. Because they were developed as a working breed then many need a lot of both physical and mental stimulation- with both long walks/runs but also indoor games and training to keep their mind busy. they are known for being yappy, but from experience many have reported that a contented Yorkie is a quiet one- that will happily curl up on your knee in the evening. of course it must be noted that they are all individuals, with some being much more laid back than others and the breeder should ideally be able to advise on the needs and temperaments of their particular line.
Of note is this breed's keen sense for instinctive behavior. In particular, marking and hunting drives are more readily observable than in most other breeds. Poodles are classified as highly energetic and intelligent, but they also can also get bored fairly easily, and have been known to get creative about finding mischief.
We are not on that list....go figure. But, we do know the word 'Squirrel'..haha.

Golden Retrievers are so eager to please, I'm not surprised to see them on there. Our goldens weren't too bad, they didn't seem as smart as our beagles, but beagles are so independent they are definitely difficult. We just got a lab mix puppy, so I hope he's going to be easy!
ReplyDeleteI have German shepherds. They are NOT always easy to train. But that might be "operator error." Having smart dogs can be challenging. Sometimes I think they're training me!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, and good information. Labs are such a great breed...
ReplyDeleteReally liked your Christmas dogs post, great pics!
We have 2 of those breeds - our Shepherd is a dream to train (now that he is over all the issues he came with when he was rescued), our cattle dog mix . . . . .if she is interested and there is not something better yes, if she is not interested and there is something better . . . we are invisible. LOL!
