In November a friend of ours called asking us a question that changed our lives.  He asked if we would take another dog in our home.  My husband and I have no children but instead have our four legged babies.  Zippo is our 6 year old lab/collie mix and Ruby is our 4 year old catahoula leopard dog.  Long story short this dog had been a shop dog all his life.  Never left the shop and was never off his chain.  He was never mistreated, please don't think that.  However, the shop was changing hands and our friend believed it was time for him to have a home.  

My husband had met Gunther, this sweet dog, several times.  We of course immediately said yes despite the fact that he was 12, never been in a house, or around other dogs.  Gunther moved in in December and has been a blessing ever since!  He has fit right in!  A few minor adjustments: teaching a 12 year old dog to navigate stairs, a broken toe, and another 50 pounds in the already packed bed!  We wouldn't have it any other way.  He thinks he has landed in heaven with all the toys, attention, and snuggles!  We pray we have many more years with this special sweet pup!
