In November a friend of ours called asking us a question that changed our lives. He asked if we would take another dog in our home. My husband and I have no children but instead have our four legged babies. Zippo is our 6 year old lab/collie mix and Ruby is our 4 year old catahoula leopard dog. Long story short this dog had been a shop dog all his life. Never left the shop and was never off his chain. He was never mistreated, please don't think that. However, the shop was changing hands and our friend believed it was time for him to have a home.
lovely,thats lovely

DeleteLove this story! My dad used to take his dog to work with him everyday. She didn't live at the shop, as she came home with him in the evenings. But it's still nice to see a friendly furry face at shops sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet Ann :) , you are right
DeleteWhat a wonderful story! We had a shop dog but it found us. He was a stray that was sick and hungry when the guys first found him. We started feeding him while looking for his owners. When we had no luck, we took him to the vet. We could not take him home because although he loved humans, he wasn't a big fan of other dogs. He would spend his days in the office or in the back with the guys. At night, he watched over the property. Bruno lived at our shop six years and loved all the customers and workers.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Gunny found a wonderful retirement home. Makes me feel sad we could never do that with Bruno but he loved his job so much, he never wanted to retire.
Thanks for sharing this heartwarming story!
